Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted , “30 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE in Tripura today. 25 persons from 86th-Bn #BSF, 4 family members from 138th-Bn #BSF & 1 truck driver.Total #COVID19 patients in Tripura now stands: 118.Active cases: 116, Discharged: 02.”
Nearly 24 persons from BSF in tripura tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. At least 22 persons from the BSF battalion in Tripura was tested positive for Covid 19 on Wednesday.
Tripura state government has asked the BSF to inquire into the origin of the cases and detail the steps taken to arrest further spread the same.
Principal Secretary to the Government of Tripura, Barun Kumar Sahu in a letter to Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura frontier stated, “ I am directed to inform that some positive cases of COVID-19 have been found with persons of 138 Bn BSF and their family members.”
He added, “I would therefore request you to kindly inquire into the matter and furnish information, the origin of the ceases,steps taken by BSF authorities to further prevent spread of Corona virus in general public. The information may please be sent to the Home Department immediately.”
