Hero MotoCorp Chairman Pawan Munjal welcomes FM relief package, says stimulus needed also for national economy

New Delhi: The relief package announced by the government today will help mitigate the impact on sections most affected in the society, said Hero MotoCorp Chairman Pawan Munjal adding, the industry is looking forward to a national stimulus which has been severely hit by the inking crisis.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Thursday announced Rs 1.70 lakh crore relief package for 80 crore underprivileged citizens in India, who have been affected adversely by the 21-day lockdown imposed in the country to control the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

“The package announced today by the Finance Minister is a very welcome move. These welfare measures will certainly mitigate the situation for those sections of the society, which have been affected most by the lockdown. I personally thank the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for driving these welfare measures on priority to ensure that the underprivileged and the needy don’t go hungry or face too many hardships during these times”, Munjal said.

The government has said it would provide extra food grains, pulses so the poor and the needy do not go hungry. The FM also announced a slew of measures including cash transfers to poor widows, senior citizens, differently abled to help them tide through the crisis.

He added, “We now look forward to a stimulus for the National Economy which will be most severely impacted due to the ongoing situation.”
